Find Your Passion, Your Purpose, and Your Profits
Why is it some people struggle year after year to get over a career and financial hump?
And many times these are good people who deserve to catch a break. They really deserve success, but
it seems like everything is conspiring against them to keep them broke.
I’ve coached hundreds of entrepreneurs to success online personally, and I’ve been thinking quite a bit about this lately. Some people seem to almost immediately breakthrough to success while others struggle without seeming to hit their groove.
Why do some succeed where many fail?
It really boils down to passion, purpose, and profits.
The people who succeed really have found their passion. They love what they do…or at least a major element of what they do.
Those who love to write…WRITE. Those who love to speak…record audio or video. Those who love building
relationships take a natural hook to social media.
But you’ve probably heard that before.
It’s the 2nd element everyone leaves out. Not only have they found their passion, but they APPLY it to their purpose.
What were you created and placed on this earth to do? While I can’t answer that question personally for you, I know it is for a greater purpose than most of us give ourselves
credit for.
It wasn’t simply to go about your daily life, saving up for retirement, and riding off into the sunset in your future years.
You were placed here by the plan of God to bring value to the lives of others.
Your passion is here to complete your purpose.
Your purpose is a GIFT to those around you…not yourself.
Zig Ziglar said, ” You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.”
It’s that outward focus on others…their wants, their needs, and their dreams.
How does whatever you’re passionate about fulfill a purpose of bringing value to others?
That’s the key question.
Here are a few clues God has left you to help you find that purpose:
#1 - What is it you love to do?
This is an oldie but you can’t forget about it. For example, I LOVE strategy games. When I was a teenager I played a war game called Axis and Allies almost every day.
What do I do today? I plan the strategy for online businesses. I figure out what strategy we can use to beat the competition (in other words the same thing that was in the game I played every day).
#2 - What is it others rely on you for?
Too often we’re too humble to see our own gifts. Ask your friends and co-workers what they see as your gifts. What do they rely on you
for?
Then be willing to let them tell you. This exercise often works better when you do it by email or some other
format so you’re not staring them in the face while they think! And to keep you from discouraging them from
telling you the truth.
#3 - What is your message?
What is a subject that gets you riled up? Where is it you see injustice taking place that you can help? This could be as simple as you seeing everyone wasting too much money because they don’t know how to use coupons (yes
I know someone who focused on that very successfully).
Your passion will lead you into your message and your purpose. What is it you wish you could help people understand? What is it you already talk about whenever you get the chance?
Look for that message…
Once you find it, you’ll find your passion, your purpose, and your profits.
And you’ll find God’s plan for you.
